Job description

Job Overview:

Operate and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on boiler room equipment and related devices. Perform other tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer, Manager, or Director of Engineering. Will answer and dispatch emergency calls as needed during off hours.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. H.S. graduate or equivalency
  2. Minimum of 3 years as a Power Plant Operating Engineer.
  3. Oral and Written Skills; computer literate: ability to read operating and service manuals
  4. New Jersey Third Grade Stationary Engineer License [Blue Seal]

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  1. New Jersey Third Grade Stationary Engineer License [Blue Seal]

Scheduling Requirements:

  1. Will provide shift coverage on the 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM and 11PM-7AM shifts Sunday-Saturday as needed
  2. Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  1. Ability to work independently and follow repairs through completion.
  2. Able to use, maintain Andover Controls and other ATC/BMS systems.
  3. Accurately troubleshoot all equipment for repairs.
  4. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory and history on all Medical Center Equipment.
  5. Assist in maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations including annual shut down, cleaning and inspection of boilers.
  6. Collect data on Boilers, Water treatment, Water temperature and fuel consumption.
  7. Complete required documentation for all work performed. Documentation completed accurately and legibly.
  8. Inspect equipment periodically to ensure that safety regulations are complied with and efficient operations are maintained.
  9. Maintain an appropriate amount of stock material necessary for the continuation of all repairs.
  10. Maintain daily records concerning the work that has been completed.
  11. Perform emergency repairs on boiler equipment and related devices.
  12. Respond to temperature control problems in a manner consistent with staff and Patient Satisfaction guidelines.
  13. Responsible for the care of the Medical Center’s tools and equipment.
  14. Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the work area.
  15. Makes appropriate repairs as needed in the medication room.
