Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain two wood-fired boilers, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
  • Monitor key operational indicators, including water levels, pressure, temperature, and steam load.
  • Transfer wood fuel from storage to the boiler to maintain optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning tubes and removing ashes weekly.
  • Follow detailed written and verbal job instructions to ensure compliance with operational procedures.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, which includes:
    • Moving machinery
    • High-speed forklift traffic
    • Seasonal environmental conditions
