Job summary

Ethan Allen Global, Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to operate and maintain stationary engines, air compressors, generators, and boilers to provide heat and steam for industrial processes at our Wisconsin facility.

This role requires rotating shifts in a 24/7 boiler room, data logging, diagnostics, lubrication, and adherence to safety procedures. A high school diploma is required; on-site work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with boilers and stationary engines preferred.
• Ability to read meters and gauges and log data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Read meters and gauges and record data.
• Adjust controls to maintain operation within ranges.
• Visually inspect equipment for malfunctions.
• Maintain equipment by tightening fittings, replacing parts, and cleaning burners.
• Oil and lubricate equipment; perform water titration tests.
• Record actions in shift logbook.
• Operate boiler room on a rotating shift, 24/7.
• Handle after-hours communications through Boiler room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

Operates & maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as air compressors, generators, motors, turbines and steam boilers to provide utilities such as heat, blowers and steam for industrial processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to operation conditions. Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases.
• Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operation ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment.
• Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
• Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, vales, recorders and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components.
• Oils & lubricates equipment. Performs water titration tests and pours chemical additives into treatment tank to prevent scale buildup and to clean boiler lines.
• Records operation and maintenance actions during shift in operators logbook.
• Boiler room operates 24 a day, 7 days a week. This requires a rotating shift by operators. The exception is when the plant is on a vacation shutdown.
• When the switchboard is shut down in the office after hours, all communications go through the Boiler room.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from 18.00 to 22.00, depending on experience.
