General Description:

Responsible for operating power plant equipment including but not limited to: boiler, wastewater treatment, and water softener equipment. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, repair, adjustment, lubrication, as well as modification of plant equipment and compounding mix tanks and ancillary equipment.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Operate and maintain all power plant-related equipment, including boiler, wastewater, high-pressure water, iodine, and water softening equipment.
  • Monitor boiler make-up water, steam, condensate, tower water, air, and gas pressure, along with gauges and instrumentation. Diagnose complex equipment failures.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain the power plant, wastewater plant, water softeners, and related equipment.
  • Maintain daily work reports/logbooks, including performance logs for the boiler, gas consumption, water treatment, chemical usage, wastewater streams, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Manage inventory of lubricants, report shortages, and coordinate with purchasing for replacements.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work as directed by the MP2 scheduling system.
  • Conduct full factory startups and shutdowns, including boiler, wastewater systems, air compressors, HVAC, and other related equipment.
  • Perform related duties or projects as assigned.
  • Be willing to work on any of the two shifts and be available for overtime when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Work on ladders, scaffolds, and in pits.
  • Work with drawings, schedules, service manuals, and similar documents. Perform routine paperwork and record keeping. Operate all power plant equipment, including shop and production tools, inspection gauges, ladders, and gauges.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Boiler License from the county (Unlimited).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Work Environment:
  • Process manufacturing environment.
  • Moderate to heavy traffic, including forklifts.
