Position Summary

Operates and maintains stationary engines, mechanical equipment, compressors, generators, and steam boilers to provide utilities such as light, heat, and power for hospital services. Requires detailed knowledge of and the ability to operate and maintain major mechanical systems including heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, communication, and fire protection.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED
• Technical training in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or related trades OR 1 year of experience in commercial boiler plant operations or healthcare maintenance.
• Possession of or ability to obtain boiler operator licenses or other certifications as required by local authorities.
• Analytical skills to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Ability to understand and communicate instructions clearly in verbal and written form.
• Ability to read and write.
• Valid State driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with arc and oxyacetylene welding and burning is preferred.
