Nestlé Purina North America is hiring a Boiler Operator (Utilities Maintenance Technician) in Batavia, OH. You will perform proactive and reactive maintenance on essential utilities systems, troubleshoot issues, and work with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to keep assets running efficiently.

The role begins with a Monday–Friday day shift during training, then transitions to 4x10-hour days, followed by nights on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance/troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• 1,000 hours toward Ohio boiler/stationary engineer licensure.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot and optimize utilities systems and related equipment.
• Monitor, maintain and repair compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, water systems, refrigeration, and fire systems.
• Execute preventive maintenance to minimize failures and promote safe operations.
• Use CMMS and diagnostic tools to reduce unplanned stoppages and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with team to maintain equipment and solve problems.
• Perform basic rigging, pipefitting and welding in an industrial setting.
• Share utilities expertise to train other team members.

As a Boiler Operator (Utilities Maintenance Technician), you will perform proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical utilities systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair and optimize utilities systems that provide the critical core of our manufacturing operations. Day to day, you will work cross-functionally with other maintenance, engineering and production personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely to keep factory assets operating efficiently.

This position will initially work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and then transition into working 4, 10-hour days during training and orientation. Once 12 weeks of training and orientation are completed, the shift will transition to nights (6 p.m.-6 a.m.), operating on a 2-2-3 schedule format (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).

The starting pay for this position is $37.50/hr. with a strategic Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages up to $41.78/hr., based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and optimize utilities systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment and components
• Monitor, maintain and repair compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, domestic water, hot water, refrigeration and fire systems
• Execute preventative maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations
• Utilize diagrams and schematics, digital tools such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), mechanical and electrical tools, and diagnostic instruments (for vibration, thermal imaging, acoustics, etc.) to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis and corrective action
• Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems
• Perform basic rigging, mechanical practices, pipefitting and welding skills in an industrial environment
• Model safety and share utilities expertise to train other team members

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical utilities systems and equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment
• Minimum of 1,000 hours of hands-on operating experience toward a High Pressure Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License issued by the state of Ohio

• Must be willing to work 6 p.m.-6 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule

Pay: $37.50 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
