Job summary

Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. in Athens, Georgia, is seeking a Boiler Operator to tend boilers, monitor gauges, logs, and perform routine water treatment and minor boiler-room maintenance. You will also monitor facility alarms and assist in repairs as needed.

The position requires about 2 years of related experience, the ability to work 8:00 am–4:00 pm with possible weekend hours, and familiarity with Building Monitoring Systems and Outlook for communications.

Responsibilities

• Tending one or more boilers to produce steam or high-temperature water. Fires boiler, observes readings, maintains logs, performs minor repairs or assists in repair to boiler room equipment; treats boiler water and analyzes water quality.
• Monitor and report facility alarms.
• Fill in for other operators as needed to cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Min. Yrs. Experience:2 Years

Experience substitution for education (if applicable): Yes

Pay: $33.02/hr. plus fringe benefit of $6.87/hr. additional $3.00/hr. in 401(k)

Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (May be required to work some weekends as needed)

*Shift Differential: 4% (2 nd shift) or 6% (3 rd shift) differential pay only if the majority of hours worked fall within the shift differential window

Job Description

• Tending one or more boilers to produce steam or high-temperature water. Fires boiler, observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts, which register various aspects of boiler operation. Maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded; clean, oil, make minor repairs or assist in repair to boiler room equipment; and following prescribed methods, treat boiler water with chemicals and analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, caustic, and alkalinity.
• Monitor and report facility alarms.
• Fill in for other operators as needed to cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position

• Must be able to operate and maintain one or more systems, that provide heat, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity. Security rounds, other duties as assigned, overtime as required.
• Needs to be familiar with Building Monitoring Systems
• Proficient in Outlook

Supervisory Controls

• Reports to Site Supervisor

• Accomplish monthly PM’s
• Anticipate and troubleshoot the ongoing needs of the facility
