Job summary

United States Steel Minnesota Ore – Minntac is seeking a Utilities Operating Technician to operate and maintain critical plant systems, including 7 HTHW boilers, compressed air, pumps, and water treatment processes.

The role requires a Class 1B boiler license and at least 1 year in manufacturing or equivalent, with safety compliance and OT flexibility essential. Expect a safety-sensitive environment with potential for outdoor work and varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class 1B Boiler License mandatory.
• Experience with potable/wastewater systems is a plus.
• Willingness to work OT and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 7 HTHW boilers and related systems.
• Manage compressed air, fire water pumps, and water treatment.
• Oversee wastewater treatment and water distribution networks.
• Work at heights or in confined spaces as needed; follow safety rules.

This role is essential to our mine process operation, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our systems.Responsibilities:As a Utilities Operating Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a range of critical systems, including:- 7 HTHW BoilersCompressed air systemFire water pumpsPotable water treatment systemWastewater treatment systemNumerous water distribution systemsYou may be required to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and you will be working in various areas of the plant location.
