Foster Farms in Livingston, CA is seeking a skilled Boiler House Maintenance Technician to keep boilers, equipment and process parameters running safely and efficiently. You will monitor data, adjust chemical dosing, perform log maintenance, and support quality and food safety in compliance with USDA standards.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, ability to work rotating shifts and weekends, and a high school diploma.

Competenze

• 1-2 years' experience in poultry processing maintenance or related field.
• Troubleshoot and make on-the-spot corrections to emergencies.
• Welding, arc/heli-arc and use of cutting torch required.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Mechanical test will determine skill level.
• Able to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Responder - Level A suit qualified.
• Haz-Mat responder (40-hour level).
• CPR/First Aid certification current.
• Lock-out tag-out and safe work practices trained.
• Able to bend, stoop, walk and stand for long periods.
• Climb ladders and work in confined spaces safely.
• Work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs.
• Lift over 50 pounds.
• Work on wet concrete floors.
• Able to work overtime, weekends, and production needs.
• Submit and pass a criminal background check.

Essential Functions

Pay Range: $22.50 to $31.00 per hour.

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am).

• Maintain all boilers and boiler department equipment, operate and maintain proper parameters for production and processing.
• Monitor and log all appropriate data, take necessary action as required to maintain equipment status.
• Maintain proper chemical levels for all boiler house equipment maintain proper chemical logs, make adjustments to achieve highest standard of operations.
• Be able to interpret steam, water flow charts, track chemical usage, adjust chemical usage as required, and order chemicals as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping, safety standards for all departments
• Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-2 years' experience in poultry processing maintenance or related field.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and make "on the spot" corrections to emergency situations.
• Must be able to weld, arc and heli-arc and use a cutting torch.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
• A mechanical test will be administered and utilized to determine the skill level.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends as required.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a trained First Responder - Level A suit qualified
• Must be a trained Haz-Mat responder at 40-hour level
• Must be current on CPR/First Aid certification
• Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices
• Must be able to bend, stoop walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely
• Must be able to work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
• Must be able to work on wet concrete floor
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and times dictated by production equipment requirements/needs
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
