Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to oversee physical plant operations, preventative maintenance, and on-call services to ensure patient comfort and safety. The role focuses on ensuring reliability of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems across the facility.

Required credentials include a high school diploma or equivalent; a Second class fireman license or two years in plant operations, with preference for a Second class fireman license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Second class fireman license or two years' experience in plant operations.
• Second class fireman license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read, record, and inspect HVAC, plumbing, and related systems regularly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, HVAC units, chillers, and pumps.
• Respond to emergency calls and operate emergency equipment as needed.
• Diagnose and rectify problems in the physical plant and systems.
• Notify authorized personnel of impending problems and failures.
• Start, stop, and operate equipment according to procedures.
• Perform additional preventive maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Enter operating data in logs and prepare deficiency reports.
• Maintain collaborative relationships to support team goals.
• Complete training requirements and courses.
