Job summary

JBS USA in Marshalltown, IA, seeks a Boiler & Engine Supervisor for the Pork division. This full-time, first-shift exempt role reports to the Assistant Plant Engineer and oversees maintenance across boiler, refrigeration, and related systems.

The candidate will lead mechanics, prioritize orders, and ensure safe, compliant operations across all plant areas, including heavy equipment and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college experience recommended.
• Willing to work 40+ hours per week across all plant shifts.
• Experience in refrigeration/boiler maintenance a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics by urgency.
• Monitor production areas to ensure proper equipment function.
• Perform skilled maintenance: construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing, hydraulics.
• Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
• Participate in HAZMAT team for emergencies.
• Promote and maintain safety in maintenance activities.
• Arrange completion of required payroll paperwork.
• Monitor refrigeration, production, and boiler systems; perform routine checks and part replacements.
• Maintain records and reports.
• Comply with OSHA and company safety standards and PSM policies.
• Attend scheduled meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics according to immediacy and necessity of orders.
• Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
• Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing and hydraulics.
• Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
• Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
• Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance.
• Arrange for completion of required paperwork, such as payroll.
• Monitors and maintains the refrigeration equipment, production equipment, and boiler systems through routine checks, lubrication of equipment, and repair/replacement of parts as needed.
• Maintains appropriate records and reports.
• Complies with all OSHA and company safety standards and policies
• Complies with, maintains, and updates PSM policies, procedures, and compliance reviews.
• Attend meetings as scheduled.

• Good attendance record (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)
