Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc is seeking a Mobile Body Shop Technician to perform offsite vehicle repairs and maintain mobile service trucks and equipment. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, DOT inspections, wiring and component repairs, welds, and inventory control.

The role requires a valid driver license and preferably a CDL with Medical card, plus mechanical aptitude and technical skills. Excellent benefits and a professional work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2–4 years related work experience in a similar position.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.
• CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with related hardware/software systems as needed to fully execute the duties required.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment according to company standards.
• Maintain all aspects of equipment maintenance.
• Perform Tractor and Trailer DOT inspections.
• Perform light mobile repairs, lights, wiring, door and window mechanisms.
• Perform minor component damage replacements: lights, fenders and brackets.
• Perform advanced component damage replacements: trailer panels, bumper assemblies.
• Perform weld repairs to tractor and trailer components.
• Maintain the quality appearance of the service truck and present yourself professionally.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Body Shop Foreman or Manager and be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for afterhours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory supplied tools for work on trucks/trailers.

• Perform weld repairs to tractor and trailer components.
• Maintain the quality appearance of the service truck as well as presenting themselves in a professional manner and appearance.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Body Shop Foreman or Body Shop Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.
• Maintain availability for afterhours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining trucks/trailers and associated equipment.

Basic Qualifications and Attributes

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 – 4 years related work experience in a similar position.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS preferred but not required.

• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
