Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking an enthusiastic Instructor Trainer to lead the development and delivery of high-quality training experiences for current group exercise instructors.

Under the direction of the Fitness Director, the Instructor Trainer plays a critical role in upholding YMCA standards by ensuring instructors are prepared, certified, and confident in leading safe, engaging, and effective classes in designated formats.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Prior experience leading instructor training, workshops, or mentoring is strongly preferred.
• Passion for building a strong team culture and delivering high-impact wellness experiences.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor current instructors in approved YMCA formats and/or nationally recognized programs.
• Collaborate with Fitness Director and/or Group Exercise Coordinator to evaluate instructor performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and continuing education opportunities related to group fitness.
• Foster a positive, professional learning environment that reflects YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
• Promote instructor engagement and growth through encouragement, accountability, and ongoing support.
