Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Fitness Director, the BodyPump Group Exercise Instructor will deliver engaging, high-quality classes, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment that promotes group interaction and wellness.

Essential Functions
  1. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your shift in uniform for communication and preparation.
  2. Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants both in person and through communication channels.
  3. Build meaningful relationships through positive engagement.
  4. Promote wellness concepts and healthy lifestyles.
  5. Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and continuing education.
  6. Follow class format, style, and certification requirements.
  7. Be sensitive and patient with members of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
  8. Encourage members to achieve their wellness goals.
  9. Maintain administrative duties such as recording class attendance and communication.
  10. Regularly inspect and maintain equipment, reporting issues as needed.
  11. Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
  12. Handle conflicts and concerns professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  13. Focus on delivering quality experiences and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
  14. Work effectively with diverse populations.
  15. Participate actively in meetings and training sessions.
  16. Uphold the YMCA's core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  17. Communicate the YMCA's mission and objectives to the community.
  18. Assist with other duties as assigned.
