Job summary

LBT Inc. is seeking Body & Wiring Technicians to install and wire brakes, side markers, turn signals, work lights, and related components. Some light body work may be required.

You will read electrical and pneumatic drawings, test circuits, run air lines, and use hand and power tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Adherence to safety policies and quality standards is essential.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to perform light bodywork as needed.
  • Must read electrical/pneumatic drawings.
  • Able to work with hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to work alone or with others.

Responsibilities

  • Test all circuits to ensure installations work properly.
  • Run air lines for lift axles and other components.
  • Perform minor bodywork such as grinding and polishing.
  • Read electrical/pneumatic drawings/circuits.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety rules.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

LBT’s Body & Wiring Techs wire all brakes, side markers, turn signals, and work lights, as well as probes and sensors and a variety of lighting. Our techs also install light boxes, welded studs, wiring clips and looms. Some body work may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Test all circuits to ensure all installations work properly.
  • Ability to run air lines for lift axles and any other air actuated air/electric components.
  • Minor bodywork such as grinding, sanding, and polishing.
  • Use of hand tools, both manual and powered (electric and pneumatic).
  • Reading of Electrical/Pneumatic drawings/circuits.
  • Able to use hands for fine manipulation of small parts (dexterity)
OTHER SKILLS
  • Must be able to work well alone or with partners, depending on need. Fabricator must be able to work closely with Supervisors, department leads, Engineers, Production Coordinator (scheduler) and warehouse personnel.
  • Must practice good housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Forklift experience desirable, but will train.
  • Must comply with all LBT, Inc. safety policies, practices and procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas
    require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing
    protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are
    present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sit or Stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to reach documents or
    store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required
