Job summary

Slate is seeking a Body Systems Design intern to support development of the body in white and related structures. You will join an energetic team and contribute to design and development of body system components and complete assemblies.

As an intern, you’ll help implement objectives to meet project performance targets, collaborate with internal and external teams, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive startup environment in the USA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and must be enrolled in an accredited program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) with strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to contribute to design teams by integrating related subsystems into body structure.
• Desire to work in a fun and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development of body in white and related structures.
• Assist design and development of body system components and complete assemblies.
• Help develop functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Support management of body component development to meet project requirements (performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability).

SLATE is looking for an energetic, organized, Body Systems Design intern to join our growing team. The Body Systems intern will be responsible for supporting the development of the body in white and related structures across the organization.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Be an integral part of an energetic team that’s challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
• Responsible for the design and development of body system components and complete assemblies.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Manage all aspects of body component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
• Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related fieldMust be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Ability to contribute to design teams through integration of related sub-systems into body structure.
