You will inspect vehicles, remove body parts, straighten frames, prime surfaces, and apply finishes while staying current with I-CAR and ASE training requirements. Weekend/overtime may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Examines damaged vehicles, compares to estimate cost of repairs, and writes up supplements.
  • Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic equipment for access to body areas.
  • Positions dolly block and beats surfaces to remove dents and straightens frames.
  • Fills depressions with body filler and primes repaired surfaces.
  • Replaces damaged parts and aligns components for proper fit.
  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces and ensures finish quality.
  • Stays up to date on I-CAR, ASE, and manufacturer training.
  • Complies with spray gun safety rules and PPE requirements.

Summary

Repairs damaged bodies and body parts of automotive vehicles such as automobiles, light trucks, and SUVs by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Examines damaged vehicles, compares to estimate cost of repairs, and writes up any supplements.
  • Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.
  • Positions dolly block against surface of dented area and beats opposite surface to remove dents.
  • Fills depressions with body filler.
  • Removes damaged fenders, panels, grills, and bolts or welds with wire feed or arc welder and replaces parts in position.
  • Straightens bent automobile frames with pneumatic frame straightening machine.
  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces.
  • Aims headlights and bleeds hydraulic brake system.
  • Primes surfaces after performing body repairs.
  • Replaces defective mechanical parts.
  • Stays up to date on all I‑CAR, ASE, and manufacturer training.
  • Abides by all federal, state and local regulations regarding spray gun equipment and personal protection equipment such as respirator compliance.
  • Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma and 2 years related training or 4 years of training and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
