Job summary

Gary Yeomans Ford Knoxville is seeking an experienced technician to identify, repair and weld truck and trailer components, with emphasis on welding, suspension and body work. Road tests may be required, and adherence to warranty and repair processes is expected.

Qualifying candidates should hold ASE certifications and state inspector credentials, possess a valid driver's license, and be willing to pass drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications in automotive service required or equivalent experience.
• Damage Analysis and Estimating Certification for Collision Repair preferred.
• Mechanical and Electrical Components Certification for Collision Repair preferred.
• Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair preferred.
• State Vehicle Inspector Certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Willing to submit to drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Identify parts required for repair and review orders.
• Adjust, replace, and repair truck and trailer components including welding and alignment.
• Road test vehicles when necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of repair processes and manufacturer’s guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Welding, suspension, framework experience a plus! OR must be willing to learn/train
• Identify and determine parts required for repair; review repair orders, work order, and Body Shop Managers estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify Supervisor of any repair add-ons.
• Adjust, replace, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/ panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.).
• Road test vehicles when necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills and truck manufacturer’s repair process.
