Job summary

Dewey Ford, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is seeking a Collision Repair Parts Assistant in Ankeny, IA. This role focuses on accurate handling of shipments, inventory maintenance, and supporting the parts department with precise, efficient processes.

You will be accountable for verifying shipments, labeling, packing, and coordinating with shippers, while upholding our core values of respect, integrity, growth, humility, and teamwork. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S. with a valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh, or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
• Determine method of shipment, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
• Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
• Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Billing parts invoices.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from shipping-receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and designate "Returned Goods, Receiving Clerk".
• Receive unsold products returned by Parts Driver.
• Other duties as assigned.
