Pay is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.

The Paint Prep/Polisher opportunity has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Compensation of $22.00 to $26.00.

Job Description

The Collision Center Painter refinishes damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
  2. Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
  3. Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  4. Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
  5. Mixes paint according to specifications.
  6. Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
  7. Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
  8. Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  9. Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested.
  10. Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
  11. Keeps work area clean.
  12. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  13. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  14. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  15. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Preferred:

  • At least 1-2 years of paint prep/polisher (Body Shop/Collision) experience.

Required:

  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
