Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Allen Park, Michigan is seeking a CAE Engineer to lead the analysis of next generation Model e products in closures and body exteriors. This hybrid role requires living within commuting distance to the worksite.

You will work with Design & Research engineers to drive design resolutions using both linear and nonlinear CAE methods, develop CAE models at component, system and vehicle levels, and direct others to build and run analyses in accordance with Ford guidelines.

• Direct other analysts to create CAE models and run analyses.
• Conduct DOE studies to meet performance, weight and cost targets.
• Develop CAE-based countermeasures and propose designs with weight/cost targets.

Job description

Body Exteriors and Closures CAE Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Allen Park, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead the CAE analysis of next generation Model e products, in one or more of the following areas: Closures and Body Exteriors. Work with D&R engineers to drive design resolutions using both linear and non-linear CAE analysis. Develop component, system and vehicle level CAE models and complete analysis following Ford CAE modeling/analysis guidelines. Direct other analysts to create CAE models and run analysis. Conduct DOE studies utilizing optimization tools to meet performance requirements within the constraints of conflicting attributes such as cost and mass. Develop CAE based countermeasures to meet requirements and work with program members to develop design proposals that meet cost and weight targets.
