Civil Service Title - Civil Engineer II
* IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, CANDIDATES MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF CIVIL ENGINEER, OR BE REACHABLE ON THE PROMOTION LIST, EXAM # 4522, OR THE OPEN-COMPETITIVE LIST EXAM # 4030, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55-A PROGRAM. Under the direction of EIC, serves as a Civil Engineer II in the Monitoring and Survey Unit of the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support. Performs field surveys and visual inspections of bridges and retaining walls, monitors cracks and movements in bridge structures, verifies field elevations, and operates survey equipment. Collects data and maintains databases for projects. A valid driver’s license in New York State is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Note: A master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution may substitute for one year of experience. To qualify for higher levels, at least one year of recent experience as a project leader on complex projects is required.
