Civil Service Title- Associate Project Manager I

* IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER, OR BE REACHABLE ON THE UPCOMING CIVIL SERVICE LIST, EXAM # 3110, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55A PROGRAM. PLEASE INDICATE YOUR CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR LIST NUMBER ON YOUR RESUME.

This position is for an Associate Project Manager I, serving in the Fabrication Engineering Unit within the Quality Assurance / Bureau of Engineering Review and Support. Under general supervision, performs responsible project management work. Responsibilities include monitoring off-site inspection during the fabrication of Structural Steel and Prestressed/Precast Concrete bridge components, overseeing inspection agencies, reviewing shop and design drawings, weld procedures, fabrication and repair procedures, and evaluating Non-Destructive Testing procedures and results. Knowledge of AWS Structural Steel and Bridge Welding Code, NYSSCM, NYSPCCM, ASME, and ASTM standards is required. Travel to fabrication plants across the US and Canada may be necessary.

ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER - 22427

Minimum Qualifications

One year of full-time satisfactory experience supervising employees in project management related to engineering, architecture, or landscape architecture projects, or supervising a construction project valued at $1,000,000 or more, and either:

  1. A baccalaureate degree in relevant fields plus one year of related project management experience; or
  2. A high school diploma plus five years of relevant experience; or
  3. A high school diploma plus a combination of college and experience totaling five years, with credits for college coursework, Master's degree, JD, or professional license as specified.

Additional experience as a supervisor or project manager for large/complex projects may be required for higher levels.
