16.50 USD Hourly

Job Summary:
Memorial Beach Boathouse, managed by Guest Services, Inc., in Sharon, MA is now hiring seasonal boathouse supervisors for the 2025 season. The season runs from mid-May through October, open 7 days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and weekends only in May and September. The position is full-time, with staff expected to work at least 4 days a week, including one weekend day. If you enjoy working outdoors and assisting guests, this is a great opportunity! The Boathouse Supervisor assists the Unit Managers in all aspects of operations and floor management, including equipment and property, to meet financial goals and company initiatives. They also help foster a team environment that delivers exceptional customer service and maintains high staff performance.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure guest satisfaction; handle complaints per customer service standards.
  • Supervise maintenance of dock and grounds to meet quality standards.
  • Assist in supervising and training staff under the direction of the Unit Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Maintain a safe environment, ensuring proper maintenance, sanitation, dress code, cash control, and hygiene standards.
  • Report safety or quality issues to the General Manager.
  • Control and oversee boat rentals.
  • Help customers with equipment use and safety.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Operate motorboats for area sweeps and rescues as needed.
  • Complete end-of-day cash and sales reports.
  • Manage inventory, conduct monthly inventories, and prepare reports.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, take out trash, and clean bathrooms.
  • Report safety concerns immediately.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest calls and emails, assisting with reservations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Boating or marina experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse people.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate priorities, lead a team, and solve problems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to swim or willingness to wear a flotation device.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and environmental adaptability.
  • Standing for long periods and climbing stairs.
  • Working outdoors in wet, hot, and damp conditions.
  • Frequent water immersion of hands.
  • Ability to read/write in English; basic Spanish, Portuguese, or Hindi skills preferred.
  • Effective verbal communication in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical presence required at the job site.
Equipment Used:
  • Office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, etc.).
  • Dock equipment (boats, ropes, anchors, etc.).
