Genuine Foods is hiring a Food Service Worker to join our team at The Newman School in Boston, MA. This part-time, hourly role focuses on preparing and serving meals in accordance with daily menus and recipe standards while engaging students, teachers and parents in our mission.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of food or customer service experience, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work in a school setting.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of food or customer service experience/training in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
• Must be flexible & team-oriented.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
• Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
• Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods' mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.
• Must be able to work in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Make menu items pursuant to recipes.
• Prepare raw foodstuffs to get ready for final cooking.
• Follow the lead of the Culinary Lead at all times.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team at all times.
• Cook and assemble all menu items pursuant to specifications.
• Stock and organize the kitchen area.
• Clean and maintain cooking utensils.
• Interact with scholars and teachers as needed to provide excellent service.
• Maintain clean service areas.
• Any other duties assigned
