Job summary

Capgemini Engineering seeks an experienced engineer to develop and optimize embedded graphics on multi-core platforms using OpenGL. You will analyze WCET with shared resources and leverage RTOS concepts like cache partitioning and resource isolation.

The role requires a 6+ year background in graphics, Linux, GPU drivers, and Arm-based controllers, with FAA AC 20-193 familiarity as a plus. This is a remote USA position offering strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
  • GPU drivers experience and Linux environment familiarity.
  • Arm-based controllers experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize embedded graphics on multi-core platforms using OpenGL.
  • Perform WCET analysis considering I/O, GPU, SSD, FPGA interference.
  • Apply DEOS or similar RTOS concepts including cache partitioning and resource isolation.
  • Support regulatory guidance such as FAA AC 20-193 as applicable.

About The Role You're Considering

This role is responsible for developing and optimizing embedded graphics solutions on multi-core platforms, leveraging technologies such as OpenGL and DEOS. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of processor, memory, and cache architectures, with expertise in analyzing shared resource utilization and system performance across CPUs, GPUs, and other hardware components. They will perform Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) analysis, accounting for resource contention and interference from I/O subsystems, GPUs, SSDs, FPGAs, and other shared resources to ensure deterministic real-time performance. Experience with DEOS or similar real-time operating systems, including cache partitioning and resource isolation techniques, is highly desirable. Familiarity with FAA AC 20-193 guidance for multi-core processor certification and experience with Epic DEOS are considered strong advantages.

    • Memory Controller design and operation, Cache memory hierarchy (L1, L2, L3, etc.), Main memory systems (e.g., DDR)
    • In-depth knowledge of shared memory access across multiple cores, including GPU interaction:
  • Shared Resource Monitoring and Analysis
    • Performance counters, Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms, Techniques for Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) computation
    • Understanding of monitoring mechanisms for shared resource usage
  • WCET Analysis with Interference Considerations
    • I/O subsystems, GPU, SSD, FPGA
  • DEOS Expertise
    • Cache partitioning techniques and Resource isolation and management
  • Regulatory Knowledge
    • Familiarity with AC 20-193 (FAA guidance on multi-core processor certification) is a strong advantage.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $73,150.00 - $174,000.00

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
