Job summary

NDWA is seeking a proactive, values-aligned Manager of Board Relations & Special Projects to support the Executive Director, coordinate with two boards, and drive priority initiatives. The role requires cross-team collaboration, travel up to 25%, and both remote and in-person work as needed to advance organizational goals.

Responsibilities include governance support, communications, budget tracking, and project management.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in board and office operations, travel and calendar management, budgeting, retreat planning, and digital/physical security governance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all engagement with the boards on behalf of the Executive Director and draft agendas and minutes for governance.
  • Develop a year-long communication strategy for interface with both boards and oversee related communications.
  • Lead scheduling and execution of in-person and virtual board meetings and retreats.
  • Provide executive-level briefing materials and follow-up coordination with staff and partners.
  • Support budget tracking for the Executive Office and maintain data management and security.
  • Field inquiries, coordinate with the Deputy Chief of Staff, and support external communications and media opportunities.
  • Oversee office operations, special projects, and information flow to the President and Executive Director.
  • Support annual strategic planning and participate in organization-wide program management.
  • Provide coverage for scheduling and internal communications when team members are out.
