Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Ventura, California, is seeking a Board Certified or Residency Trained Cardiologist to join a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital. You will work with a team of veterinarians and support staff to deliver high-quality care and maintain excellent client relationships.

Our facility is equipped with ultrasound, C-Arm, 64-slice CT, MRI, and two digital radiology suites, and offers in-house labs, a specialized pharmacy, and dedicated emergency/critical care areas.

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD from an accredited college.
  • 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
  • Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency.
  • Current State Veterinary License.
  • DEA registration must be obtained.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
  • Client communication and education.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
  • Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
  • Attend daily rounds when possible.
  • Participate in practice management updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
