Board Certified Psychiatrist Physician Advisor, Disability Peer Review

Dane Street is expanding our physician panel! This is a telework opportunity for physicians seeking supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Our physician panel consists of independent contractor reviewers (1099), compensated per case.

Job Summary

As a Physician Reviewer/Advisor for Disability Peer Review, you will use your clinical expertise to review medical records and provide an independent, professional opinion on the claimant's functionality and restrictions related to disability benefits applications or current disability status. Determinations are based on clinical evidence within the provided medical records.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Accept cases on a contract basis as your schedule permits, review all medical records, and address each question using client-specific or nationally recognized evidence-based criteria to opine on disability status.
• Provide a clear, concise rationale for decisions with adequate supporting documentation.
• Utilize current criteria and resources such as national, state, and professional guidelines, and peer-reviewed literature to support objective and sound decision-making. Avoid using case studies or cohorts for decisions.
• Submit reports and copies of criteria used promptly.
• Return cases by the specified due date and time.
• Conduct peer-to-peer calls or attempts to obtain information not included in medical records, as required by protocol.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including providing clarifications, addenda, and addressing quality assurance or regulatory issues.
• Active board certification and practice required.
