West Music in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking a full-time Board-Certified Music Therapist to support individuals and groups across ages, aiming to improve social, emotional, communication, cognitive, and physical goals through music therapy.

The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining caseloads, and traveling within a 60‑mile radius to deliver sessions. West Music offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music therapy required.
• CBMT certification required; candidates pending certification may apply but must be credentialed before starting.
• Strong verbal, written, and receptive communication with clients and professionals.
• Ability to make independent judgments in clinical settings.
• Proficient music skills in voice, guitar, percussion, and piano.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between session sites.
• Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual music therapy experiences addressing client needs in varied settings.
• Manage client caseload independently including scheduling, assessment, planning, and documentation.
• Coordinate with OT, PT, chaplaincy, social work, and others to meet therapeutic goals.
• Conduct recreational music programming such as adaptive choirs and lessons for neurodivergent students.
• Travel within a 60‑mile radius to conduct sessions.
• Support department administratively (presentations, meetings, etc.).
• Adhere to CBMT & AMTA standards of practice.
