Board Certified-Minnesota Licensed Physicians (M.D, D.O.) - Multiple Specialties

This telework opportunity allows you to customize your schedule and caseload within the week while maintaining client-mandated turnaround times. Our reviewers are compensated on a per-case basis as a 1099 independent contractor.

Candidates must hold an active Minnesota license.

Physician Specialties: Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Hematology, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Pain Management, OB/GYN, Neurology, General Surgery, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Orthopedic Surgery-Spine.

Job Summary

Utilizes clinical expertise to review insurance appeals and claims, providing interpretation of the medical necessity of services provided by healthcare professionals. Ensures compliance with client-specific policies, evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Reviews all medical records and addresses client questions using specific or recognized evidence-based criteria.
  2. Ensures clear, concise rationale with supporting documentation for decisions.
  3. Utilizes current guidelines and literature for objective decision-making, avoiding limited sample case studies.
  4. Provides copies of criteria used in reviews promptly.
  5. Returns cases on or before deadlines.
  6. Makes mandated telephone calls.
  7. Maintains proper credentials and licenses.
  8. Attends required training and orientation.
  9. Performs additional duties including responding to quality assurance, regulatory issues, and audits.
