Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System with Board Certified/Eligible Pulmonologists to deliver pulmonary and critical care services. Two FTE physicians will work full-time, providing inpatient and outpatient coverage, including on-call duties.

Outpatient clinics are scheduled 8:00am–4:30pm Mon–Fri; inpatient consults and on-call coverage seven days a week. The role requires collaboration with VACIHCS teams and adherence to VA service guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice medicine in any US state, DC, or territory.
• Board certified/eligible by ABIM in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care.
• BLS, ACLS (or equivalent) certification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pulmonary/critical care services and inpatient consults.
• Manage outpatient pulmonary clinics per VA guidelines.
• Collaborate with VACIHCS teams and follow service agreements.
• Provide on-site direction and support to pulmonary personnel and VA staff.

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System (VACIHCS) with Board Certified/Eligible Pulmonologists. Posterity Group LLC is providing two (2) FTE physicians to work 80 hours per week for pulmonary physician and critical care services. The Physician is expected to do the following

Outpatient clinics are currently scheduled for 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday. Inpatient new consults and Inpatient return visits on call as required seven days a week.

Critical care services entail but are not limited to: diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients with life-threating illnesses or injuries that require advanced organ support and continuous monitoring.

• Oxygen/Ventilator Management
• Pre-surgical Evaluation
• Bronchoscopy Evaluation
• Follow-up on Specialty Pulmonary Problems
• In-patient Pulmonary Consults
• Outpatient Pulmonary Consults
• E-Consults
• Serve on home oxygen committee
• Pulmonary Functions Interpretation (PFT)
• Sleep Disorder Interpretation (interpretation due back within twenty-four (24) hours)
• Overnight Oximetry Study (interpretation due back next business day from date of completion)
• Rest and Exercise Study (interpretation due back next business day from date of completion)
• Comp and Pen exams
• Home O2 Orders
• Monitor and write orders for Ventilators for Home Use.
• Pulmonologists will adhere to VACIHCS service agreements between Primary Care and Pulmonary services. Service agreements outline specific guidelines for consultative services. Evidence of these guidelines can be found within CPRS. The contractor will be asked to provide professional/technical advice regarding VA Pulmonary services and part of general program oversight.
• Physicians will provide on-site direction and support to the pulmonary personnel (VA registered nurses) regarding equipment, technology, policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property
• Shall be board certified/ board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care
• Be currently certified in BLS, ACLS, or equivalency
• have at least 3 years of relevant experience
