Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is seeking Board Certified/Eligible Psychiatrists to staff the Hampton VA Healthcare System and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Residency training in psychiatry from an accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychiatric evaluations for a diverse veteran population including geriatric and post-deployment Veterans.
• Provides diagnostic assessment, medication management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Ensures practice aligns with TJC, VA policies, HIPAA, clinical guidelines and record documentation.
• Participates in team meetings and treatment planning with multidisciplinary staff.
• Orders tests and consultations; participates in supervision/teaching and on-call duties as assigned.
• Practices in outpatient, inpatient, ED settings and via VA Video Connect as assigned.
• May serve as mental health team leader coordinating consults and referrals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The Hampton VA Healthcare System (HVAHS) and related CBOCs (Community Based Outpatient Clinics) with Board Certified/Eligible Psychiatrists. The Psychiatrists are expected to do the following:

• Performs psychiatric evaluations for a diverse population, including geriatric and post deployment combat Veterans, who are mentally ill and have psychosocial issues such as homelessness, unemployment, and poor family support network.
• Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Ensures practice of psychiatric medicine is consistent with TJC, CARF, HIPPA, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, and mandatory continuing education.
• Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care.
• Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care.
• Orders diagnostic tests and consultations and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions.
• May participate in supervision and teaching in support of the psychiatric residency program, performs on call duties, and performs other directly related duties as assigned.
• Areas which the Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist Physicians is assigned and has clinical privileges to practice may include depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, substance abuse, and other psychiatric disorders in various clinical settings (outpatient, inpatient, ED, and through VA Video Connect).
• The Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist Physicians may serve as a mental health team leader with responsibilities for coordinating consults and triage of specialty clinic referrals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
