Job summary

Empower Behavioral Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a part-time BCBA to provide clinic-based ABA services, supervise treatment implementation, and develop individualized programs. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis or related field required.
• Board certification (BCBA) required.
• Must obtain and maintain Texas BCBA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinic-based ABA services to EBH patients and families.
• Supervise implementation of treatment to ensure protocols are followed.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments and parent questionnaires.
• Develop individualized behavior programs for patients.
• Conduct descriptive and functional analyses as part of assessments.
• Write behavior intervention plans for reduction targets.
• Develop and update initial treatment plans per best practices and insurance guidelines.
• Implement and supervise data collection systems.
• Provide behavioral support in an interdisciplinary setting.
• Evaluate and report progress toward goals; oversee transitions and discharge.
• Conduct parent trainings monthly and group trainings as needed.
• Attend department and interdisciplinary staff meetings.
• Maintain BCBA certification through BACB CE requirements.
• Obtain and maintain state licensure.
• Adhere to Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments and parent questionnaires
• Develop and write individualized behavior acquisition programs for patients
• Conduct descriptive and functional analyses as part of functional assessments
• Write behavior intervention plans for behavior reduction targets for patients
• Develop and write initial treatment plans and update plans in accordance with best practice and insurance guidelines
• Implement and supervise data collection systems
• Provide behavioral support for patients in an interdisciplinary treatment setting

Requirements for Education and Experience:

Education:

• Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis or related field
• Board certification and in good standing as a BCBA
• Must obtain and maintain current BCBA licensure in Texas

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years working with children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move or transport up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to run or walk throughout 6–8-hour sessions (i.e., patient eloping)
• Must be able to respond quickly to manage behaviors (i.e., block aggression, move furniture)
• Must be able to be seated on the floor when needed for patient
• Must be able to transition from seated on the floor to standing quickly to respond to aggression/severe behavior
• Must be able to bend or twist to utilize physical management
• Must be able to maintain physical holds for aggressive patients for extended periods of time when needed
