Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. in Springfield, New Jersey is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our clinical team and lead assessment, intervention planning, and staff supervision for youth and families.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification.
  • Active New Jersey licensure as a Behavior Analyst or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Minimum of two to three years working with children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Minimum of two to three years of management, clinical supervision, or team leadership experience.
  • Experience completing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and people-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership, coworkers, clients, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Interview clients and families to gather relevant behavioral information.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Identify and clearly define target behaviors.
  • Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans based on assessment findings.
  • Train staff on FBA and BSP implementation.
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision, coaching, and feedback.
  • Monitor treatment fidelity and ensure interventions are implemented correctly.
  • Complete and update assessments and plans in the CYBER EHR quarterly.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, leadership, case managers, and the treatment team.
  • Participate in case reviews, treatment planning, and quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure services comply with policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Promote trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Your Role as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst

As a BCBA, you will provide clinical leadership and behavioral support services to youth and families. You will assess behavioral needs, develop individualized intervention plans, train and supervise staff, and monitor client progress through data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Interview clients, family members, caregivers, and treatment team members to gather relevant behavioral information.
  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Identify and clearly define target behaviors.
  • Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans based on assessment findings.
  • Design data collection systems that accurately measure behavior and treatment progress.
  • Analyze behavioral data and modify interventions as clinically appropriate.
  • Train staff and caregivers on the proper implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to assigned staff.
  • Monitor treatment fidelity and ensure behavioral interventions are implemented consistently.
  • Complete and update Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans in the CYBER electronic health record on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate professionally with clients, family members, clinical leadership, case managers, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure services comply with organizational policies, applicable regulations, ethical standards, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Promote positive, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches to behavioral care.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Healthcare, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification.
  • Active New Jersey licensure as a Behavior Analyst, or eligibility to obtain required state licensure.
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience working with children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Minimum of two to three years of management, clinical supervision, or team leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience completing comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis principles and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and people-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical leadership, coworkers, clients, and families.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound clinical judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience documenting services in CYBER or a comparable electronic health record system.
  • Experience supervising behavioral technicians, clinicians, or direct support staff.
  • Experience working with New Jersey youth behavioral health programs.
