Southcoast Behavioral Health, located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, is a premier mental health treatment center with 192 beds. We serve pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Purpose Statement

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides quality ABA services to the patients on the Specialty Pediatric Unit. In addition, the BCBA develops and implements ongoing services for staff development.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in implementing ABA programming on the Specialized Pediatric Unit
  • Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavioral Health Associates
  • Train new staff on ABA techniques
  • Stay updated on treatment advances and set goals for self-improvement
  • Facilitate daily team meetings
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services annually
  • Provide direct services to patients on the Pediatric Unit
  • Conduct assessments, including ADOS and other specific assessments, in a timely manner
  • Participate in performance improvement activities
  • Follow all hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintain license or certification in good standing
  • Flexible schedule, including possible weekends or evenings when appropriate
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Skills:
  • Experience developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with adolescent populations
  • Competence to provide services to patients
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by BACB
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training provided upon hire)
  • First aid may be required depending on state or facility
