Job summary

Corewell Health's Lemmen-Holton Cancer Center in Grand Rapids seeks a registered nurse to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Cellular Therapy and Hematology HOPD - Grand Rapids team. You will deliver nursing care, participate in the nursing process, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to support patients through complex cancer treatments.

The role emphasizes adherence to ANA standards, ethical practice, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing and state RN license.
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
• Active Michigan RN license required on hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC within 90 days.
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification course required where chemo/immunotherapy is administered (1 year).
• OCN certification preferred within 1 year.

About Lemmen Holton Cancer CenterWe treat cancer using the latest technologies and treatments including gene sequencing of tumors, targeted therapy and advanced oncology surgery techniques. We use a team approach to care, bringing together different areas of expertise that specialize in any type of cancer.

Scope of work

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
• Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
• Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree Nursing

• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• CRT-Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered. Radiation Therapy certificate course is required for RNs working in radiation departments. 1 Year required
• CRT-Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation OCN Certification (or other applicable Oncology specialty/leadership certification) preferred. 1 Year preferred
