Job summary

Microvast is seeking a highly skilled BMS Algorithm Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced algorithms for battery and battery management systems.

Position is 5 days in office at headquarters in Houston, TX. You will work with software engineers and data scientists to integrate safety algorithms, research new methodologies, and document performance metrics for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in algorithm design, data structures, and computational complexity.
• Solid understanding of mathematical and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and optimization techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking under challenging scenarios.
• Creative thinking skills and strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication with development team members.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize safety-related algorithms for battery systems and battery management systems.
• Conduct research and apply state-of-the-art methodologies to improve system performance.
• Work closely with software engineers and data scientists to integrate safety algorithms into battery and battery management systems.
• Analyze and optimize computational efficiency of algorithms to ensure scalability.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models to validate new ideas and approaches.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in algorithms and related technologies.
• Document design decisions, processes, and performance metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other business units and teams.
