  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial work environment with opportunities to work on large-scale, technically complex construction projects

Benefits should be confirmed against the applicable ARCO division’s current package before publication.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Oversee and coordinate the design, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and associated control systems on mission-critical data center projects.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure building automation systems meet project specifications, owner requirements, and operational expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate controls contractors, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and commissioning teams throughout construction, startup, and project turnover.
  • Review BMS and controls design documents, equipment submittals, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, control sequences, and network architecture for compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the commissioning and functional performance testing of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air-handling equipment, pumps, and other critical mechanical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate the integration of BMS with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, and other facility monitoring systems as required.
  • Verify control sequences, point-to-point testing, alarm functionality, trending, system graphics, and communication protocols to support reliable building operations.
  • Troubleshoot control system integration issues, communication failures, programming deficiencies, and equipment performance concerns alongside subcontractors and commissioning teams.
  • Work with industry-standard building automation platforms and communication protocols, including Tridium Niagara, BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU, PLCs, and related control technologies.
  • Assist with development and review of commissioning plans, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and equipment startup documentation.
  • Monitor controls-related construction schedules, identify potential project risks, and proactively coordinate solutions to maintain project milestones.
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), integrated systems testing (IST), and final owner demonstrations as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific safety requirements, quality standards, applicable codes, and client operational requirements.
  • Coordinate final system documentation, deficiency resolution, training, and turnover to the owner and facility operations teams.
  • Most importantly, find a way to make the construction process FUN for our clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing quality or safety.
