Job summary

Bonneville Power Administration is seeking a Controls Engineer to oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of building management systems across multiple facilities. You will study current BMS design, monitor performance, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical crews to ensure safe operation of HVAC and related systems.

The role emphasizes improving BMS efficiency, reducing costs, and acting as SME for HVAC, lighting, access control, and energy management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building monitoring systems (BMS) management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, lighting, and energy management principles.
• Proficiency in BMS software platforms (Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize BMS across client buildings.
• Configure, program, and commission BMS hardware and software.
• Maintain building automation systems including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
• Analyze data to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors.
• Develop system documentation and diagrams.
• Plan upgrades and integrations; train staff on BMS procedures.
