Job summary

Gilchrist Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a Conservation Technician. The role supports enrollment and implementation of FDACS BMPs, conducts verification visits, and assists with cost-share programs. Duties include site visits, workshops, field days, and maintaining required records.

The position requires a BS in agriculture or natural resources, proficiency with Word/Excel, and valid driver’s license. Travel within Gilchrist and surrounding counties is necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in agriculture, natural resources, or related field.
• Experience in agriculture or natural resources preferred, may substitute for education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel) required.
• Familiarity with pivots, no-till drills, tractors and related accessories preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist agricultural producers with enrollment and implementation of FDACS BMPs, including NOIs.
• Perform BMP Implementation Verification visits and assist with cost-share programs.
• Participate in site visits, workshops, field days, and outreach events; maintain records and reports.
• Support BMP implementation and conservation outreach with FDACS staff and producers.
