We are seeking a BMD Project Engineer.

Your experience and technical abilities determine your placement. This is a remote position with minimum 50% travel.

Duties:

ESN is looking for Senior Navy Combat System experts to support our Navy Surface Warfare Center (NSWC-PHD) client. We seek motivated individuals to provide technical and engineering support for planning, execution, and post-event analysis of AEGIS Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Test and Evaluation (T&E) events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical support for AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) interface validation, shipboard and waterfront integration tests, analytical services, and assessments both in-port and at sea.
  • Supporting tactical and operational interoperability during testing and evaluation, including integration of BMD defense capabilities aboard AEGIS ships.
  • Analyzing test and evaluation data and providing training to support Combat System Interoperability for Strike Group and T&E events.
  • Offering technical support for BMD System Engineering efforts and installations on AEGIS Destroyers.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have extensive knowledge and experience with AEGIS Combat System (ACS), AEGIS Weapon System (AWS), Tomahawk Weapon System, shipboard radar systems, and other combat systems. Proven experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing shipboard electronic systems is essential. Ideal candidates will have recent experience as a Combat System Maintenance Manager (CSMM) on an AEGIS DDG or CG.

Minimum requirements include:

  • At least twelve (12) years of experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing Navy Combat Systems, Weapon Systems, Computer Networks, and/or Display Systems.
  • Recent experience working aboard US Navy ships (in port and at sea).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

U.S. Navy certification in Fire Control Navy Enlisted Codes (NECs) related to ACS, AWS, ACI/Networks, or other integrated weapon systems. A high school diploma is required; an AS/BS degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is helpful but not mandatory.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to deploy at sea on U.S. Navy ships for varying durations.

Clearance Required: Secret

Locations: Navy fleet concentration areas (San Diego, Norfolk, Pearl Harbor)
