Job summary

Apple Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Bluetooth MAC Systems Validation Engineer to lead chip-level bring-up, testing, and validation of wireless silicon, ensuring robust MAC throughput and latency performance.

You will work with cross-functional teams across RF/Analog, Systems/PHY/MAC, and FW/SW to optimize MAC algorithms and hardware implementations. In this role you will use lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters to verify design targets,

Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on lab testing and characterization experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ for algorithms, modeling, simulation and test benches.

Responsibilities

• Bringing up, testing, characterizing and optimizing real silicon in the lab.
• Analyzing and improving the efficiency of wireless MAC layer protocols, focusing on throughput, latency and overall network performance.
• Implementing MAC system models and investigating algorithms for performance enhancements, design and validate them to allow performance sign-off and enable system developments.
• Defining the control procedures of the MAC layer hardware modules to achieve robust and optimal performance throughput and latency.
• Collaborating with PHY system team and cross-functional teams to integrate MAC layer algorithms into system architecture.
• Collaborating with firmware designers to realize these methods with high efficiency software implementation and possibly with using hardware acceleration.
• Documenting design processes and performance outcomes, providing detailed reports and insights for continuous improvements.
