Job summary

Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, near Houston, TX, is seeking a CAD Drafter/Detailer to design and place drawings for post-tensioned concrete structures. Training is available for recent graduates or those with AutoCAD experience.

You will prepare installation drawings, material takeoffs, and revise drawings per contract documents, while maintaining submittal schedules and documenting project information with support from experienced staff.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills; reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and technical software.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Create drawing submittal schedules based on the customer's construction requirements and monitor progress required to maintain schedule.
• Identifying any construction problems and implement solutions.
• Producing installation drawings and calculations according to contract documents.
• Applying revisions to placement drawings and calculations according to comments on approved drawings and/or structural revisions.
• Identifying revisions that require contract change orders.
• Material takeoff for change order process.
• Issuing placement drawings for construction prior to material fabrication.
• Material take off support and back up bar for fabrication
• Through CAD software, we outline: Post tension type Cable Lengths Cable abundance Cable elongation Strand Lists (A client and material use chart used to summarize the above) Cable stressing directions and Tendency Structure size Trench width (generally specified) Cable Spacing (by standard or specified) Detail markers Reference dimensions (for construction use) Construction joint or dead-end placement (when it's not specified) Rebar use areas (when necessary) Maintaining electronic copies of all submittals and correspondence according to company policy. Company Logo Overview Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our eight manufacturing facilities in the US. We are looking for a CAD Drafter / Detailer to join our team near Houston, TX! In this position, you will be responsible for the design and placement drawings for post-tensioned concrete structures. We are willing to train recent graduates or those with experience in AutoCAD. You do not need to be a pro to become a part of the team! We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude and basic AutoCAD skills . With support from our experienced staff, you will help develop solutions for project-specific needs.

Additional responsibilities include preparing budget estimates, reviewing and analyzing drawings, and gathering and organizing project information.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.00/ hr Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
