Job summary

Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, seeks a CAD Drafter/Detailer near Houston, TX to design and prepare placement drawings for post-tensioned concrete structures. Training offered for recent graduates or those with basic AutoCAD skills.

You will support with budget estimates, drawings review, and project information organization. You will produce installation drawings and calculations, apply revisions, and help with change orders while maintaining electronic submittals and

Qualifications

1-2 years of relevant experience and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field
Strong organizational skills; reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with computers and technical software
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong math abilities and multitasking skills
Ability to read and interpret plans
Solid technical aptitude
Commercial awareness and judgment
A proactive, 'get-it-done' mindset
Ability to meet tight schedules and deadlines

Responsibilities

Create drawing submittal schedules based on the customer’s construction requirements and monitor progress required to maintain schedule.
Identifying any construction problems and implement solutions.
Producing installation drawings and calculations according to contract documents.
Applying revisions to placement drawings and calculations according to comments on approved drawings and/or structural revisions.
Identifying revisions that require contract change orders.
Material takeoff for change order process.
Issuing placement drawings for construction prior to material fabrication.
Material take off support and back up bar for fabrication
Through CAD software, we outline: Post tension type, Cable Lengths, Cable abundance, Cable elongation, Strand Lists (A client and material use chart used to summarize the above), Cable stressing directions and Tendency, Structure size, Trench width (generally specified), Cable Spacing (by standard or specified), Detail markers, Reference dimensions (for construction use), Construction joint or dead-end placement (when it’s not specified), Rebar use areas (when necessary)
Maintaining electronic copies of all submittals and correspondence according to company policy.
