Job summary

Prisma Health's Simulation Center - Midlands is seeking a dedicated BLS and Heart saver/AED instructor to coordinate and teach scheduled courses for employees and external participants, with nurse educator support. You will handle all AHA paperwork, enter participant data into our database, and process certification cards while cross-training to assist other operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of college in a clinical health care field preferred.
• Four years of related work experience; two years as an AHA Instructor preferred.
• American Heart Association certification for Basic Life Support Instructor and/or Heart saver Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training program, schedule, and calendar.
• Oversee training at centralized training sites and clinical units to ensure standardized courses and quality.
• Serve as the primary instructor for designated courses.
• Schedule co-instructors as needed from the pool of certified instructors.
• Process required paperwork and certification cards for each course.
• Maintain equipment and classroom supplies; streamline educational processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and teaching all scheduled BLS and Heart saver/AED courses for employees/staff as well as external participants, with the assistance of a nurse educator or contract employee. Responsible for completing all necessary AHA paperwork for each course, entering the participant information into our database, and processing all certification cards. Cross trained to assist with other functions of the operation as needed.

• Performs responsibilities required to maintain effective function of the program (i.e. maintaining equipment, classroom supplies, paperwork as needed, etc.) and to streamline the educational processes
• Coordinates training program, schedule, and/or calendar
• Oversees training that occurs at the centralized training sites and on clinical units, to ensure the courses occur in a standardized fashion and meet quality standards.
• Serves as the primary instructor for designated courses.
• Schedules co-instructors as needed from pool of certified instructors.
• Processes required paperwork and certification cards for each course.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Two (2) years college in clinical health care field (such as allied health or nursing) preferred.
• Experience - Four (4) years related work experience. Two (2) years as an AHA Instructor preferred

In Lieu Of

• In lieu of education and experience requirements noted above, an equivalent combination of work/academic experience may be considered.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• American Heart Association certification for Basic Life Support Instructor and/or Heart saver Instructor - Preferred
