Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a BLS Instructor to conduct basic life support training in alignment with the EMS training center mission. Responsibilities include delivering courses, providing logistical support, and assisting leadership with clerical and operational duties.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of healthcare experience (EMT or higher), and solid computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The BLS Instructor conducts training and education at the basic life support level in concert with the overall mission of the EMS training center. Provides logistical support for on-site and off-site courses, supports EMS training Center leadership through clerical and operational functions in addition to teaching courses.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• A minimum of 2 years of Healthcare (EMT or higher level / or specialized instructor - addiction dispatch drug use) experience as a provider.
• Must possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Minimum of 1-year Instructor experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Instructor Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Driver's License from a USA State.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification, Emergency Medical Technician Instructor, Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) Certification, Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) Certification, or a higher-level medical license.
• AHA BLS Instructor Certification.
• Emergency Medical Technician aid.
• EMR Instructor Certification.
