Job summary

The American Red Cross in Philadelphia is seeking a Blood Product Technician to manufacture and process blood components. You will handle units from donors, enter data, and maintain documentation while upholding quality standards.

The role requires High School, 2+ years in regulatory/lab/manufacturing, strong computer and communication skills, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Shift: Tue-Sat 6:00am-2:30pm; starts at $19/hr with potential increases.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Good computer skills and ability to use a wide variety of programs and laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical requirements: standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and may work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers.

Responsibilities

• Meet quality and production goals while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Perform inventory management across manufacturing and distribution.
• Data entry and operation of computer programs for component production, labeling, and storage.
• Analyze information from other departments to meet deadlines.
• Perform complex tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, and deglycerolizing.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
• Work a Tuesday–Saturday 6:00am–2:30pm shift; may include weekends/holidays.
