Job summary

The American Red Cross in Salt Lake City is seeking a Quarantine and Labeling Technician to label and quarantine blood products, review test results, and ensure releases meet patient safety standards. The role works independently in a high-volume environment with minimal supervision. A high school diploma is required with 2+ years in regulatory, lab, or manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.
• Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment.
• Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods.
• Good communication skills. Ability to work on a team.
• Associates degree in science is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, label, and store blood products per policy and procedures.
• Receive and review test results, run labeling programs.
• May irradiate/x-ray blood products for special orders.
• Manage sample tubes and shipment preparation and ensure products are suitable for release.
• Meet quality and production goals established by the department.
• Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
• Perform data entry and use production software.
• Operate, maintain, and validate lab equipment and quality checks.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations for products/samples and supplies.
• Analyze information to meet time requirements and quality standards.
