Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join the Blood Gas Lab on the first-shift weekends. You will perform a range of routine and specialized tests to support patient diagnoses and treatment.

This role requires operating and maintaining instruments, ensuring quality control, and preparing specimens, with holiday coverage as needed and a weekend premium. Bachelor’s degree in CLS/Medical Technology is required; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Certification preferred; CLIA requirements may be considered for certain tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tests in clinical laboratories using standard techniques and equipment.
• Operate manual and automated instrumentation and calibrate equipment per SOPs.
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance documentation and processes.
• Prepare patient samples for testing and report analytical results.
• Participate in lab inspections and proficiency testing as directed.
